AlpacaFest West 2009 Check In

All alpacas will be examined and found to be healthy, and the presence of a microchip will be confirmed before they are allowed into the stalling area. Be sure that the microchip number and BVDV PCR or VI test results, along with the lab ascension number are listed on your Certificate of Veterinary Inspection. It would not hurt for you to have a copy of the lab results on hand in the event the vet inadvertently omits any of this information. Have your original Certificate of Veterinary Inspection in your hand ready for the Veterinarian and a copy of your CVI to turn in to Show Management. All owners are required to submit a copy of the Certificate of Veterinary Inspection stating that all necessary State test and mandated AOBA tests such as BVDV PCR or VI testing for all alpacas entering the venue, whether in competition or entering the premises for any other reason. A copy will be kept as part of the permanent show records.

Length Requirements

For Huacayas:
Juvenile: Minimum of 2 inches and no maximum.
Yearling: Minimum of 2 inches and a maximum of 8 inches on the blanket, neck and legs.
Two Year Old and Mature: Same as Yearling.

For Suris:
Juvenile: Minimum of 3 inches and no maximum.
Yearling 3”- 11” (Must have been shorn within 380 days of November 14th ) -minimum of 3” and a maximum of 11” on the blanket, neck and legs.
Yearling Suris 3” - No Maximum (Not previously shorn or shorn beyond 380 days) - minimum of 3” and no maximum on the blanket, neck, and legs.
Two year old and Mature, must have a minimum of 3” and a maximum of 9” on the blanket, neck and legs.

Compliance Checking

Compliance checking will occur in the show ring. After vet check, please bring animals to the show ring for compliance checking unless prior arrangements have been made with compliance checker coordinator, Rick Horn. Upon completion of compliance check, please take animals to your stall assignments that were given to you upon arrival.

Please note, all animals including companion animals must be checked in, be registered with Alpaca Registry Inc. microchipped and meet the health requirements of this show. No alpacas under the age of 6 months are permitted on the show grounds.

Note* Class Schedule (AlpacaFest West utilizes online registration and has contracted with Alpacalachin Farms, Don Tompkins again for the 2009 show year. Exhibitors are not required to indicate which classes their alpaca(s) is entered into as part of the registration process.)
