Permission to Show

All alpacas and fleeces must be entered in the name of the owner as shown on the ARI Registration Certificate. Animals being bought under contract or animals whose transfer has not yet been completed must include an AOBA “Buyers Permission to Show” form signed by the owner listed on the ARI Registration Certificate. AOBA Show rules prohibit the showing of animals with pending papers. Handlers do not need a permission to show form.

AOBA Show Division Fees

AOBA requires a $6 recording fee for every animal entered and a $6 recording fee for every fleece entered into the show. AOBA requires us to assess an additional $75 show fee for all farms that are not members of the AOBA Show Division. This fee is per farm not per animal. The show management recommends that you bring proof of your Show Division membership in the event that your records differ from those of the AOBA Show Division.

Optional Halter Classes

Get of Sire and Produce of Dam Classes
Show entry is made in the name of the sire or dam and the entry fee is applicable. There is a limit of one entry per sire or dam. Alpacas must be eligible and entered in the show in their respective halter class. Entry for Get of Sire may be made November 14, 2008 no later than 8:00 PM. Please inform Show Superintendent Robin Oaks of any late Get of Sire entries.

Bred and Owned Yearling Class

The current owner of the yearling must have also owned the dam at the time of conception as evidenced on the ARI Certificate. The alpaca must be eligible and entered in its respective class.

Breeder’s Best Three Class

All alpacas must have been bred by and presently owned by the exhibitor as evidenced on the ARI Certificate. All alpacas in Breeders Best Three must be eligible and entered in their respective halter classes. Both genders may be represented. The alpacas that comprise the group do not have to be related. Show entry is made in the name of the breeder as shown on the ARI Certificate. Limit one entry per breeder.

Additional Information

Classes may be divided or combined depending on the number of entries. This show will follow the rules of the 2008 AOBA Show Division Handbook.

All alpacas entering the show grounds must comply with AOBA show rules. ALL alpacas must be ARI registered, have a current health certificate that includes their microchip number and have tested negative for BVDV.
